Ensuring Every Student is Ready

I’m an MCPS parent, experienced cross‑cultural educator and administrator, and native Spanish speaker running for School Board to give our kids the opportunities they deserve. I’ve worked as a teacher and career counselor at a specialized education center for children and adolescents with disabilities and other special educational needs, and as a college cultural exchange program administrator in my native Ecuador. Those students showed me the power of opportunity and the doors that education can open.

My wife Mindi and I have lived in Manassas for 10 years. Our four children are 13, 10, 8, and 2, and the older three attend Metz Middle, Baldwin Intermediate, and Baldwin Elementary, where we volunteer with the PTO.

When I moved to the United States, I pivoted my career and now serve as a General Manager at Safeway. I work with high school students and recent graduates every day, and I see the skills our students are missing. I also oversee payroll, HR, budgeting, and customer service—experience I’ll bring to the School Board to improve operations and results.

As an immigrant and MCPS parent, I love the cultural and language diversity of our Manassas City school families. I know our students can succeed in school and beyond, but rigor must be maintained and strong programs must be available. I would be the only immigrant MCPS parent on the School Board if elected, and I’m running to make sure no family is overlooked and no student is written off.
